Scholarships & Payments

Texas A&M University's Bilingual Education Program will award scholarships for qualified participants in the Online Certification Prep Courses, according to the agreement below.

Scholarship Application

Simply answer a few questions in the scholarship section of the registration form. All employed, certified Texas teachers are automatically awarded.

Scholarship Agreement

A large portion of the scholarship is awarded upfront. A course deposit is due within the first ten days of the course. (See pricing structure below.) Individuals not financially sponsored by their district have the option of making payment installments. Reimbursements will be made after the participant adds the appropriate supplemental certification, they must submit the following forms:

  • competency-specific score report,
  • copy of Teacher Certification including ESL or Bilingual Supplemental Certification,
  • W9 form and
  • receipt for TExES exam.

Bilingual Certification Prep Course Payment Information

The Bilingual Certification Prep Course is $550. All certified Texas teachers receive a $350 scholarship toward that cost. Either the school district or the individual needs to pay the remaining $200 cost (course deposit). Whoever pays the $200 will receive a reimbursement after the teacher completes the course, passes the TExES #164 exam, and adds the certification.

For districts paying for the Bilingual Certification Prep Course:

  • The course may be paid for with a credit card online at the Texas A&M Marketplace: https://secure.touchnet.com/C21490_ustores/web/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=1198. Select "Payment Installment for Online ESL/Bil Cert. Prep." For each person enrolling, you will select a quantity of 2. Then click “Add to Cart,” and fill in the requested information.   • Purchase orders may also be used to pay for the course. They can be faxed to 979.458.0192, scanned and emailed to bilingualed@tamu.edu, or mailed to the address below:

The course deposit is $200, so you will select a quantity of 2. If preferred, you may make two installments of $100 each. The first $100 is due on or before the tenth day of class. ESL Certification Prep Course Payment Information

The ESL Certification Prep Course is $500. All certified Texas teachers receive a $300 scholarship toward that cost. Either the school district or the individual needs to pay the remaining $200 cost (course deposit). If paying as an individual, you may make two $100 installments (the first one is due by the tenth day of class, and the second $100 is due by the fifth day of the next month). Whoever pays the $200 will receive a reimbursement after the teacher completes the course, passes the TExES #154 exam, and adds the certification.

The BTLPT writing course is $375. All certified Texas teachers receive a $275 scholarship toward that cost. Either the school district or the individual needs to pay the remaining $100 cost (course deposit). Whoever pays the $100 will receive a reimbursement after the teacher completes the course, passes the TExES #190 exam, and adds the certification.

For districts paying for the BTLPT writing course:

  • The course may be paid for with a credit card online at the Texas A&M Marketplace: https://secure.touchnet.com/C21490_ustores/web/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=1198. Select "Payment Installment for Online ESL/Bil Cert. Prep." Each quantity of 1 is $100. Then click “Add to Cart,” and fill in the requested information.
