| M.S.
students complete a Thesis, according to university
standards and requirements. M.Ed. students complete
a very similar "final field study". Both the Thesis
and Field Study are formal summaries of scholarly
investigation involving original data or re-analysis
of data originally collected for other purposes. The
Thesis or Field Study are formally evaluated by the
student's committee and must be presented in the student's
final oral defense |
| The
Master's program may be taken as preparation for the
Doctoral program or as a terminal degree program.
For those who take it as a terminal degree program
the preparation provides sufficient theory, knowledge
and skill for significant contributions to bilingual
education in a variety of applied settings |
| Texas
A&M University College of Education will offer the
Master of Education in Educational Psychology in Hispanic
Bilingual Education via distance education in four
high need areas throughout the state of Texas. Courses
offered via instructional telecommunication follow
all Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board guidelines
for off-campus and for instructional telecommunications
courses: |
1. these courses are determined and scheduled by the
appropriate academic departments;
2. they are taught by approved graduate faculty;
3. they require identical work of students; and
4. they are structured and evaluated according to
identical criteria as the on-campus sections. |
|
These courses differ only in the fact that they are
delivered via distance learning technology. School
districts, community groups, and economic development
councils in the State rely on Texas A&M University
as a source for this program. |
