Online Bilingual/ESL Dual Certification Project

The purpose of this project is to develop an Online Bilingual/ESL Dual Language Certification program, including training for in-service teachers seeking certification in bilingual/ESL education. The program's goal is to prepare currently certified teachers to pass the certification requirements as indicated by the State of Texas by challenging the TExES Supplemental exams #154, #102, #112, as well as the Texas Oral Proficiency Test (TOPT).

The TAMU Online Bilingual Certification Prep Course is a web-based interactive program designed for training in-service teachers seeking certification in bilingual education. It complies with the TExES test framework for field 102: Bilingual Education Supplemental EC-4 , which includes Domain I: Bilingual Education and assesses Bilingual Standards II-VI .

The TAMU Online ESL Certification Prep Course is an intensive, seven-week course that prepares participants to pass the TExES ESL Supplemental (#154) certification exam. Participants will learn theories, techniques, and strategies for educating linguistically and culturally diverse students. They will also acquire the knowledge and skills that are tested by the domains and competencies of the TExES ESL Supplemental Exam.
